Terms of Service & Disclosures
By booking a housekeeper through Nexa Maid, you agree to the Terms of Service below. Nexa Maid is a house cleaning referral agency, meaning we connect clients with independent domestic workers. The cleaners we refer are not employees of Nexa Maid.
We take pride in referring reliable, experienced, and hardworking cleaning professionals. If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us by phone or email — we’re happy to explain anything in detail.
Service Duration & Final Time Estimate
The estimated length of each cleaning appointment may vary. The final determination of job duration is made by the referred domestic worker(s) in coordination with the property owner or occupant, based on their independent professional judgment. The total time may depend on property condition, special requests, and any additional tasks.
Client Service Agreement
This Client Service Agreement is entered into in Oswego, Illinois, by and between Nexa Maid Referral Agency (“Agency”) and the individual(s) requesting referral services (“Client”).
Nexa Maid is a house cleaning referral agency that connects clients with independent domestic workers. The Client is requesting Nexa Maid’s services to help identify and refer qualified cleaning professionals to provide housekeeping services at the Client’s home or business.
Agreement Terms
1. Referral Service
All referred Housekeepers are screened prior to referral. Nexa Maid will verify work authorization and legal eligibility before making referrals, based on processes consistent with applicable federal procedures.
2. Payment
Payment is due at the time an appointment is scheduled. A valid credit card may be collected and saved on file for billing purposes.
The Client agrees to pay Nexa Maid the full cost of the scheduled service. Appointment time may be billed in minimum increments of 30 minutes.
The referral fee charged by Nexa Maid is negotiable and based on a standard fee schedule, typically calculated as a percentage of total service cost. The Client agrees to pay Nexa Maid the referral fee for as long as the Client continues to utilize services from the referred Housekeeper.
3. Direct Hiring Restriction
The Client agrees not to hire, retain, or engage any referred Housekeeper directly without notifying Nexa Maid during the term of this Agreement and for nine (9) months after services end.
If the Client begins services or continues services without informing Nexa Maid, the Client agrees to pay Nexa Maid a $1,500 finder’s fee per property.
4. Performance of Services
The Housekeeper is responsible for the performance and quality of cleaning services. The Housekeeper represents that they have the experience and ability to complete the requested services independently, without direction or supervision by Nexa Maid.
If any issue arises related to quality, missing items, breakage, theft, or dissatisfaction, the Client acknowledges that resolution must be handled directly between the Client and the Housekeeper.
If Nexa Maid receives a complaint, Nexa Maid agrees to forward the complaint to the Housekeeper so they may address it directly.
Nexa Maid is not liable for issues arising from the Housekeeper’s performance, and the Client agrees to hold Nexa Maid harmless from all claims, losses, damages, or liabilities connected to the Housekeeper’s actions.
5. Independent Domestic Worker Disclaimer
Nexa Maid does not employ the referred Housekeeper. Depending on how the Client directs and controls the Housekeeper’s work, the Client may legally be considered an employer under state or federal law.
This may include responsibilities such as:
employment taxes
workers’ compensation
wage and labor compliance
For guidance, clients should contact the IRS and their local Employment Development Department.
The Client agrees Nexa Maid is not responsible for any employment taxes or legal obligations that arise from the Client’s relationship with the Housekeeper.
6. Acceptance of Terms
The Client’s use of a referred Housekeeper constitutes acceptance of these Terms, even if the Client does not submit or sign a written version of this Agreement.
7. Termination or Replacement
The Client may request a replacement Housekeeper or discontinue services at any time.
8. Attorney’s Fees
If Nexa Maid must enforce these terms legally, the Client agrees to cover reasonable costs, including attorney’s fees, incurred by Nexa Maid.
9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute must be brought in Oswego, Illinois.
10. Electronic Signatures
This Agreement may be executed through electronic means. Submission of the online booking form is considered a valid electronic signature and agreement to these Terms.
Satisfaction Policy (24-Hour Window)
If you are not fully satisfied with any aspect of the Nexa Maid referral experience, we may:
refer a replacement cleaner, and/or
communicate with your cleaner on your behalf when possible
Nexa Maid offers a 24-hour satisfaction window beginning at completion of the cleaning. Any concerns must be reported within 24 hours so we can relay the feedback to the Housekeeper.
Nexa Maid is not responsible for damage or replacement related to:
pre-existing wear and tear
incorrect installation or faulty assembly
misuse or fragile items
For vacation rentals, Nexa Maid is not responsible for guest-related issues or revenue loss. Cleaners may report damage if requested, but Nexa Maid holds no liability for guest damage.
Appointment Arrival Time
Many Housekeepers operate with a 1-hour arrival window, for example 8–9AM or 3–4PM. Delays may occur due to traffic, schedule changes, cancellations, or access issues. If late, the Housekeeper will often contact the Client directly with an updated arrival estimate.
Lifting & Furniture Movement
Clients may request additional tasks, but most domestic workers will not:
use tall ladders
move heavy furniture
These tasks can risk injury or property damage. If you want areas behind furniture or appliances cleaned, we recommend moving them ahead of time.
Tipping
Tips are never required, but always appreciated if you believe your cleaner did an excellent job.
Pets & Children
While the Housekeeper will do their best to work safely around pets and children, the Client is responsible for supervising and managing minors and pets during the appointment.
Job Quotes
Pricing is based on room count and information provided by the Client. All quotes are estimates unless verified by inspection.
If the Housekeeper arrives and discovers the job differs significantly (additional bedrooms, move-out conditions, heavy buildup, etc.), the Client may choose to:
approve an increased rate to complete the full job, or
continue at the original price with a reduced scope
Payment Terms
The Client must have a valid payment method on file prior to service unless otherwise agreed.
If payment is not secured by appointment time, Nexa Maid will attempt to contact the Client. If payment cannot be confirmed, the appointment may be cancelled.
Termination
This Agreement may be terminated by the Client with at least 24 hours notice before the appointment.
Nexa Maid may terminate immediately if the Client violates the Terms.
Customer Responsibilities
The Client agrees to provide:
a safe working environment
unrestricted access to requested areas
utilities (hot/cold water, electricity, garbage disposal)
permission to clean the premises
removal or protection of valuables (cash, jewelry, art, etc.)
The Client agrees to secure fragile or valuable items before the start of service.
Privacy Policy
Client information may be used only for scheduling, service coordination, communication, and referral support.
We do not sell personal information and do not share personally identifiable information (PII) with third parties for advertising or marketing.
Nexa Maid takes reasonable precautions to protect all personal information from misuse or unauthorized access, consistent with applicable privacy regulations.
Mobile / SMS Privacy
We do not share or sell SMS opt-in data, text-message consent, or mobile user information to any third party. Opt-in information remains confidential and is used only to provide service-related communications.
